Obituary
January 15, 1926 - August 4, 2021
ALICE N.
TEENY (BUSS), 95, died peacefully August 4, 2021 at home and went to be with
Jesus. She was born January 15, 1926, in
Concordia, Kansas, the daughter of Derk and Ruby Buss.
Alice
graduated from Washington High School of Portland, Oregon in 1945. Following graduation, she worked as a bookkeeper
until 1956 when she married Fuad Teeny. They lived in Corvallis and then
Portland, Oregon before Fuad took a job in Seattle, Washington. Alice lived on the same street from 1960
until 2018 until her health began to decline, and she was no longer able to
care for herself and her disabled daughter, Melinda.
Alice was a
long-time member of the Apostolic Faith Church, a pastor’s wife, and Sunday
School teacher. She loved to teach the 3
to 5 year-old children about Jesus. Over
the years, Alice and her husband opened their home to hundreds of people who
shared in a home-cooked meal and great conversation.
Alice also enjoyed
baking, gardening, and reading. Her neighbors, friends, and family were often
the recipient of her baked goods. Her garden was always ablaze with color from
the many flowers she carefully planted and tended. An avid reader, she enjoyed
books until her final days.
Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Fuad Teeny, her parents Derk and Ruby Buss, her sister Martha Buss, and Brothers, Roy, Earl, Alvin, and Melvin Buss. She is survived by a sister, Elsie Litzenberger; her children, Sharon Pattee (John), Dr. Steven Teeny (Lynette), Rev. Nancy Hiatt (Rev. Daniel), David Teeny (Simona), John Teeny (Marla), Melinda Teeny; 17 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
