Jerome Anton Malsam
Obituary
Jerome Anton Malsam was born on January 25, 1949 in Hosmer, South
Dakota to Philip and Mary Malsam. He was the second born child of twelve
children. He died on December 22,2025 at his home in Sammamish, Washington.
He is survived by his wife, Joan, sons and daughters-in-law, Marc
and Jackie, Derek and Marie; grandchildren Marissa, Marc, Ella, Ava and Olivia;
brothers Peter, Linus, Fabian, John, Philip and Anton; sisters Ann Warren,
Linda Warren, Rose Cronenwett and Mary Unruh. He was preceded in death by his
parents and sister Mary Theresa.
Jerry served in the U.S. Army, with a tour in Viet Nam, where he
was awarded a Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medal.
After returning home, Jerry began working in construction,
eventually becoming a journeyman carpenter and later a general contractor. In 1972 he married Joan Tully and together they raised their sons, Marc
and Derek. They were blessed to have 54 years together.
Jerry was a
devoted husband, loving father and adoring grandfather, protector of his
family, man of integrity, and loyal friend, with a heart that loved God and
loved people. He touched so many lives and will be missed by all who were
blessed to know him.
