Wyvetta Jean Walden

Obituary

Wyvetta Jean Walden, 97, passed quietly on September 16, 2025, in Lynnwood, Washington.

Born on February 19, 1928, in Kansas City, Missouri to Orville Rosco Walden and Dorcas Almeda (Walker) Walden just before the depression years. As many families of that time moved from state to state, her family went looking for opportunities in the search for the American dream. Wyvetta’s final move with her parents and siblings took her to Richland, Washington where she graduated from high school. She met and married William (Bill) Thorvald Olsen of Woodinville, where they moved after Bill’s military tour of duty at Hanford Military facility was completed.

Wyvetta had many jobs over the years besides raising three children. After moving from the country to the small city of Bothell, it was easier for the young children with school activities and develop friendships. Wyvetta had a long career working for GTE in Telecommunications, retiring in May 1993. Throughout her life some of her hobbies were shell craft jewelry design, arranging silks flowers, and working with resources found in nature creating beautiful centerpieces and wall art. At 72 she started painting in oils creating canvases of flowers, landscape, and fantasy themes for grandchildren, always signing her paintings with scripture.

Her legacy is three children, David, Lynn, and Susan: five grandchildren, Josh, Wendi, Clint, Lisa, and Heidi and twelve great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Joni with her daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great, great, grandchild. Also, her brother’s children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends.

She is interned at The Chapel of the Resurrection Mausoleum, 16300 112th Avenue NE, Bothell, WA 98011

No viewing or service is planned on site. The family has chosen to have a private memorial. In lieu of flowers please donate to The American Cancer Society.

PSALMS 100 ERV   A Song of Thanks.

Earth, sing to the Lord! Be happy as you serve the Lord! Come before Him with happy songs! Know that the Lord is God. He made us, and we belong to Him. We are His people; the sheep He takes care of. Come through the gates to His temple giving thanks to Him. Enter His courtyards with songs of praise. Honor Him and bless His name. The Lord is good! There is no end to His faithful love. We can trust Him forever and ever!
