Marguerite (Rehberg) Henricksen

Obituary

Marge joined family and friends in heaven on April 18, 2023 around 11:00pm.

Marguerite (Rehberg) Henricksen was born on August 18, 1927 in Ventura Ca to Marion and Ray Rehberg.  Shortly after that the family moved to the Pacific Northwest.  She graduated from Washington State College in Pullman with a degree in foreign languages where she met Robert, (Bob) Henricksen and married in June of 1949.  After a short time in Spokane and Wenatchee they moved to the west side of the state and settled in Bellevue in 1966 where she lived until she moved in 2004 to Emerald Heights in Redmond, WA

If anyone had to summarize Marge’s life, it would be to say Marge was a woman of faith.   She prayed diligently for her husband, kids, grandkids and great grandkids.  She was involved with her church for many years including serving as head of the elementary department, VBS, mission board, and choir, as long as she was physically able.  She was also involved with the spiritual life committee at Emerald Heights when she moved there.  Even in her twilight year she enjoyed the services at Emerald Heights and reading verses with her daughter and grandson.

Marge loved to travel. From the back of a motorcycle in Vietnam to the back of camels in the Holy Land. From High Tea in London to the tropics of Brazil and cool cruises up to Alaska and Europe and trips to Hawaii.  She also enjoyed the serenity of the family cabin in Idaho. But more than places, she loved people and hoped they would all come to know the same God she did.  She supported missionaries around the world, spreading the Gospel to all the corners of the earth and providing a place for many to stay in her own home.

A few years ago her daughter Celia helped Marge put together a book, for all her grandkids to cherish, with the verses she memorized on her drives to work where she taught 2 and 3rd grade at Rose Hill elementary. Her life theme was Trusting God.  We know she is in heaven now with the One she put her trust in and was welcomed with “well done good and faithful servant.”

She is proceeded in death by her husband Robert Henricksen, Brothers Bud, Bobby, and Hugh and many other family and friends.

She leaves behind 4 children and spouses Gary (Charri) Henricksen, Ron (Carol) Henricksen, Celia (Darrell) McLaughlin, and Teresa (Bill) Gowin.  Grandchildren, Adam and Evan Henricksen, Mark Henricksen, Karen Carnahan, Jenna Cornelissen, Amanda Gowin, Richie Gowin, Ashley Welshymer, David McLaughlin and 12 great grandchildren.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.”  Proverbs 3:5-6
