Jerome Gunarso

Obituary

Jerome passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025. 

Jerome was born in Indonesia to Hendrik and Madeleine Gunarso. He met Yulinda, his first and final love, while they were in high school. Their relationship began in 1983, during Jerome’s freshman year of college. After earning his Mechanical Engineering degree, Jerome married Yulinda in 1991. 

By the grace of God, Jerome and Yulinda obtained their green cards and immigrated to the United States, fulfilling his childhood dream. They settled in Southern California, where they welcomed three children: Grace, Osmond, and Peter. 

Jerome studied business and completed an MBA in 1996. With his business expertise, Jerome managed several automotive and logistics businesses and excelled, earning recognition through regional sales awards. His success allowed him to help bring his parents and sister to the United States, keeping his family close. 

Jerome and family moved to Washington, where he started a retail shipping store which has joyfully served the community for over two decades. 

A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Jerome devoted his life to loving his family, neighbors, and church community. His kindness, faith, and generosity will be remembered by all who knew him. 

Jerome was preceded in death by his father, Hendrik. He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Yulinda; his mother, Madeleine; his sister, Eugene; his children, Grace (husband Taylor), Osmond (wife Gloria), and Peter; and his cherished grandchildren.
