Scott B. Springer

Obituary

Scott B. Springer, servant of our Lord, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away with family by his side on January 5, 2024 in Huntsville, Alabama. Born November 23, 1950 to Richard and Sarah Springer, Scott was the eldest of three siblings. His father and dear sister preceded him in death. Scott lived a storied, wonderful life across the United States, from Pennsylvania to Michigan; California to Washington; South Dakota to Alabama. It was in Washington that Scott settled down in the Seattle suburbs with his wife, Susan, of 38 years. He was the proud father of two beautiful daughters and three handsome sons, a grandfather to 13 wonderful grandchildren, a dear brother to his siblings, and a beloved son to his mother, all of which are surviving.

Scott graduated from Whittier College and Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles, passing the State Bar of California. He worked as a lawyer, real estate developer, high school special education paraeducator, and author. He was a natural athlete and loved to play tennis, golf, and ride his bike.  Above all, Scott’s passion was to spread light across America through the Word of God. While Scott enjoyed moving from house to house or state to state, he is in his true home with his Heavenly Father now. He is dearly loved and will remain in the hearts of his family and friends.

Family and friends of Scott are invited to a service on March 23 at 2 PM at Cedar Park Church’s Chapel of the Resurrection (16300 112th Ave NE, Bothell, WA 98011), followed by a reception. If you have questions about the service, you can contact scottspringermemorial@gmail.com

In lieu of flowers, you can consider donating a gift in memory of Scott to: Gideons International, Whitesburg Baptist Church, or Tunnel to Towers.

Throughout the 80's and 90's, I worked with Scott in the Seattle office of Lincoln Property Company. He was a talented, nuanced and skillful developer of large apartment communities. Scott never compromised his integrity, trustworthiness, morals or faith as he successfully developed a significant portfolio of multi-family housing. He was my mentor, business partner and friend. I'll forever look back fondly and cherish our time together.

Needless to say we got the best gift scott could have left. He left an inheritance by way of our beloved daughter in love, Courtney! If we leave behind good seed we have lived well! Surely we are not alone with those thots. Blessings on you, Sue.

Scott was a true light across America, loving people with the love of Christ. It was evident in the way he listened and cared for others. My family were grateful recipients of his kindness, compassion, and hopeful outlook on life. We often look back on the years we home schooled together doing “Springer School” as among our very best. We are so thankful we got to know Scott. We grieve with Susan, Jesse, Joshua, Joey, Summer, and Courtney. Much love, Sara and Rich.

I met Scott at Whittier College in the fall of 1970. He was a true and friendly student. He became of of my best friends with Tom Coleman and Terry Thormosgard. We were always playing various sports together, like basketball and football. You could always count on Scott to help the team out. He will be truly missed. May he rest in peace !

Scott, as roommates at Whittier College and later we were like brothers. My friend I will miss you and at the same time have great memories of our times together. In the end you are in heaven, and we will forever be soul brothers. Love you!
