Charles (Chuck) Richard Miller
Obituary
Charles(Chuck)
Richard Miller, age 86, passed away on September 7th, 2021, at Swedish Hospital
in Edmonds, WA. Born in Seattle, Washington, Chuck was the youngest of three
musically talented children and played the saxophone in their family quartet.
After graduating high school, he met the love of his life, Barb while attending
church at Bethel Temple. Chuck joined the United States Coastguard Reserve
working as a boatswain for 2 years. On his return, he proposed to Barbara, and
they were married in 1958.
Raised in a
heritage of Christian faith, Chuck continued his family legacy evangelizing the
gospel of Jesus. In 1967, with his wife and two sons Rick and Tom, Chuck
traveled to New York as a missionary for Teen Challenge. He returned to Seattle
two years later and pastored Bethel Chapel for 10 years. They welcomed their
daughter, Kristi, two years later.
Chuck
enjoyed family vacations, traveling, camping, and adventure. He also had a
green thumb and his meticulously tended yard was evidence of his love for
gardening. Apart from ministry, he was a successful salesman working in the
home oil industry for many years as a result of his strong work ethic. Although
a man of few words, Chuck was outspoken in sharing the love of Jesus no matter
where he was.
Chuck was preceded in death by his father
Donald, mother Violet and wife Barb. He
is survived by his son Rick and his wife Judi; son Tom and wife Trish; daughter
Kristi and grandchildren Alexa and Quintin, brother Roy and sister Marilyn and
numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial
service will be held at Westgate Chapel; 22901 Edmonds Way, Edmonds Washington
on October 16th, 2021 at 1pm.
