Donald L. Ege

Donald Ege passed away on June 15, 2021, from complications of congestive heart failure. 


Donald and his twin brother were born on July 2, 1935, in Springfield MO.  He earned his electrical engineering degree from the Missouri School of Mines and married the love of his life on April 13, 1958.  He and Kathleen had one son and walked side by side for the next 63 years.

 

Donald served in the National Guard for 11 years and received a commendation as a rifle marksman.  He worked 35 years for Boeing Aerospace and retired in 1999.  His expertise was in radar applications including targeting, ground avoidance and weather.

 

Donald was strongly devoted to his immediate and extended family.  He passed his steadfast Christian faith on to his children and grandchildren.  He enjoyed many deep friendships, hunting, fishing and boating.  After retirement he and his wife cruised the Puget Sound with the Galilean Yacht Club.

 

Donald is preceded in death by his parents, David Bryan and Zella Ege as well as his two brothers Robert and Harold.  He is survived by his devoted wife Kathleen, son David and two grandchildren, Jason Ege and Taylor DeMass.  In addition, he has 7 surviving nephews and 5 nieces, as well as their children and grandchildren.

 

Donald will be missed by all who knew him; we know he is now resting comfortably in Jesus’ arms.

Graveside services will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery in Maple Valley, WA as well as a Celebration of Life service at Overlake Christian Church in Redmond, WA.
